I am sure you are slowly putting yourself through your paces on my series of Piano Lessons For Beginners. With regular practice and serious application to my lessons, you will surely get there: But it may take some time to accomplish your goal of playing the piano, with just the visual guidance, and no teacher by your side.

However, there is a short-cut which you can take, and I really must tell you about it.
My niece and nephew, aged 14 and 16, were progressing quite nicely by following my method. They did find it difficult, though, to keep motivated without the teacher’s voice to encourage every day, that is, until we discovered the Learn & Master Piano DVD course, by Will Barrow.

The CDs are great, as they encourage you to play along to an accompaniment. These give good instruction, and are just the best thing for boosting your confidence in your playing, and in getting you to complete your exercise without stopping.
And the DVDs – Well, these are an incredibly good resource. This is because your teacher, Will Barrow, is right there in front of you, with his piano keyboard, and he shows you to exactly how it is done. You can imagine just how helpful this is.

Well, this was really a very wise investment, which took much of the difficulty of learning from scratch away. Within just a few weeks, with the help of the ‘play-along’ CD’s, and Will Barrow’s DVDs, my niece and nephew had grasped the gist of ‘When the Saints Go Marching In’, John Lennon & Paul McCartney’s ‘Let it Be’, and ‘Amazing Grace’.
This was a real thrill to see them speed ahead with the practical aspect of playing a piece. You cannot imagine how delighted my brother in-law was to see and hear his children accomplish so much, and so quickly. And now the whole family can sing along to their accompaniment.
They also learned, very quickly, to put a left hand bass line to the right hand melody, which gave the songs a strong sense of rhythm.
Will Barrow’s Learn & Master Piano is a good course for people of all ages.
